About the Research Community
The purpose of the IIHHS Research Community is to establish a network of researchers who can assist each other in improving the quantity and quality of our scientific research.
Although the term research may encompass a wide range of activities at JMU, this community was established to support investigators who conduct programmatic empirical research in the area of health and human services, publish in leading journals, and pursue state, federal, and private research funding to support our work.
Faculty in this group tend to prioritize their research work above many other faculty activities.
Three aims of the Research Community have been identified:
- Support the research work of others
- Work to insure that the infrastructure at JMU supports our level of research activity
- Identify and support junior faculty who wish to pursue this line of work in their career
