Health and Human Services Research/Policy Database

The purpose of this database is to allow the mapping of national and state policy statements and documents to the programmatic research activity being conducted by health and human services faculty.

By providing users with this database we hope to:

  • allow administrators to speak directly to state and national legislators about the research activity being conducted at JMU and how the research dovetails with their health and human services priorities
  • share information with legislators and policy makers thereby increasing the likelihood that JMU faculty conducting scientific research on health and human service issues will be called upon to advise state and national policy
  • increase awareness of the high quality health research activities at JMU-enhancing JMU’s reputation as a serious participant in scientific research in health and human services areas
  • create opportunities to increase collaboration among faculty, entice faculty to engage in programmatic health research, and attract high caliber new faculty as information is shared internally
  • improve investigators’ research and grant proposals by allowing them easy access to data that links their research to federal and state policy information
