Physical Therapy Articulation Information
Chatham University
JMU has a 4 + 3 articulation agreement with Chatham College for the purpose of matriculation into the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Chatham College.
The following criteria has been established and agreed upon between JMU and Chatham College:
- Each student at JMU who declares an intent to complete the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Chatham College shall be co-advised by assigned members of the faculty from JMU and from Chatham College during his or her time at JMU.
- Satisfactory completion of the following will be required prior to enrollment at Chatham College:
- A minimum grade of “C” in each prerequisite course
- An overall grade point average of 3.50
- Maintenance of good citizenship record
- Completion of all Chatham College Doctor of Physical Therapy admission requirements, which include the prerequisite courses listed in the Chatham College catalogue, as well as completing an application, volunteer hours, on-campus interview and writing sample, and submitting three (3) letters of reference, as specified in the application form
- In addition to the above, students at JMU will be guaranteed an interview for consideration of acceptance into the Chatham College Doctor of Physical Therapy program if all of the following criteria are met:
- A minimum grade of “C” in each prerequisite course
- An overall grade point average of 3.00
- Maintenance of good citizenship record
- Completion of all Chatham College Doctor of Physical Therapy admission requirements, which include the prerequisite courses listed in the Chatham College catalogue, as well as completing an application, volunteer hours, on-campus interview and writing sample, and submitting three (3) letters of reference, as specified in the application form
- JMU student’s should submit application by December 15 th of a pre-physical therapy student’s final year in residence at JMU
- Any exceptions must have the approval of both institutions
- Up to three (3) JMU student’s may be accepted through the guaranteed agreement annually
