Physical Therapy Articulation Information

Marymount University

JMU has a “4 + 3” articulation agreement with Marymount University. For those students who have completed the pre-requisites and will be obtaining a baccalaureate degree prior to admissions, priority status will be offered to those who meet the following criteria:

For those students who have completed the prerequisites and will be obtaining a baccalaureate degree prior to admission, priority status will be offered if the following criteria are met:

  • Baccalaureate degree completed
  • All Marymount University Physical Therapy Program prerequisites completed
  • GRE scores

Students must receive permission from the dean of the major college to complete all undergraduate requirements, including all requirements for the completion of the major, by successfully completing the first year of study in physical therapy at Marymount University with grades acceptable for transfer of credit.

After successful completion of the first year of study in the Department of Physical Therapy at Marymount University, undergraduate students will receive a Baccalaureate degree from James Madison University. JMU will award the Baccalaureate degree to all qualified candidates who successfully complete all degree requirements of JMU and who successfully complete the first year of the Physical Therapy Program at Marymount University. Marymount University physical therapy credits will be listed on the JMU transcripts, but the grades earned by students in the physical therapy courses will not be factored into the student’s final undergraduate cumulative grade point averages.

JMU will not charge tuition for the fourth year for students who enter Marymount University’s Physical Therapy program immediately following their junior year. However, JMU may charge a nominal administrative fee for keeping the students records. Students will also be required to apply for graduation and pay all graduation fees.

JMU students/graduates who meet the above listed criteria will be granted priority status for admission to the Department of Physical Therapy at Marymount University. As with all other applicants, priority applicants must have on-site interview prior to admission.
