Community Pharmacy
Of the more than 175,000 licensed pharmacists in the country, about 60% work in community pharmacies. Pharmacists are playing an increasing role in the "wellness" movement, especially through counseling about preventive medicine. If pharmacists want to combine their professional talents with the challenge of the fast-moving retail pharmacy business, they often consider management positions in chain pharmacy practice or ownership of their own pharmacy.
